P.O. , a producer from Oakland made a version of Jay Z's "American Gangster" called Oakland Gangster a few months back. Him as his partner UK's OJ Loopz are some upcoming beatsmiths that got some good productions out there on the net.

Now this mix is something of a rarity. Done by Mr. Thing and DJ Format it is one of the most eclectic mixtapes made. I seen a copy of this mix sell for $39.95 on cdunvierse. I've even heard Z Trip sing it praises so peep it for yourself. To hear a sample of the mix click HERE

According to Boombox Distribution.net

"HOLY SH*T" is a 65 minute mix of all sorts of weird & wonderful music from the 60's & 70's from all over the world that DJ FORMAT & MR. THING have collected on their travels. Not only is the music weird and wonderful it's all got a religious theme to it. There's everything from German pysch, polish 60's beat, Swedish jazz, Hungarian rock and Czech pop but it is of course mixed in a b-boy style in-keeping with Hip Hop's roots. "

I got this off letsgogetit.blogspot.com. A collection of soul, rock, jazz and funk breaks mixed by Mr. Thing. It comes in two forms: one mixed and one unmixed. Beatdiggers need some new breaks? Grab the unmixed one. The mixed version is a hell of great breaks mix. This is one of my favorites.

DJ Spinbad (www.myspace.com/djspinbad) is one of NYC's most prolific (and one of their best) mixtape deejays. Spinbad like a few others most notably Jazzy Jeff,DJ Revolution,Cosmic Kev can do it all: mix, scratch, and juggle. He's more mainstream then eclectic like Z Trip but he still throws down. This mix and one of the few I might add was released on cassette and CD.
