DJ Dexter (The Avalanches) - Triple J Mix Up Mix

This is one long eclectic mix with solid portions and some not so good tunes but overall it is definitely worth a place in your mix collection.

Three time DMC Champion DJ Dexter Fabay, formerly of The Avalanches, spins a 2 hour set of Funk, Hip Hop, RnB, World beat and EDM on Australia's Triple J Mix Up show back in August of 2000.

For those like myself who are unfamiliar with Dexter Fabay check this 2010 interview with The Vine Here.

Shout out to Swamp at Swamp Towers for ripping and posting the audio.

Thanks so much for posting this. I remember this being played live on triple J and rushing home to St Kilda to find a spare cassette tape to record it. I eventually tried to digitise it but a few computer changes later I only have 45minutes (half a 90minute tape). Thanks, reminds me of a great time seeing the avalanches at the corner hotel.

Thanks for comment Matt!

Honestly I never heard of a DJ Dexter or Avalanches mix until 2014, they are not very known here in the states. It was definitely a treat to hear this mix.

I remember being 15 in 2001 and downloading this mix from Napster-- then studying the shit out of it. Man, this brings me back-- thank you!
