Seattle / San Diego DJ Dopeshoes (HomeGrown Blends)has only been rocking the tables for about five years but she has already released four solid mixes. Unlike most female deejays who mostly spin some form of club music - Electro,dubstep,etc - Dopeshoes plays Funk, Hip Hop,RnB & Soul.

Personally I'm a big supporter of female deejays, especially hip hop deejays, since their were so few when I started back in the mid 80's. The women of mix bring a unique vibe to the art. Most will play many joints many male deejays won't. As well as more consistent in the structure of their mixes. No highs and lows but pretty straight solid vibe all the way through their sets as this mix demonstrates.
