It's not often that I listen 80's Hip Hop but this mix by veteran San Diego DJ Dennis Jones takes me back. You gotta love any mix that contains lesser known tunes. Anybody can play radio hits but it takes some effort, and good ears, to dig for quality music from the past.

"This is just mix I put together live while my buddy Jay was hanging out. We were talking about old-school hip-hop and it got me motivated to throw together a mix of what we listened to when we were boomin' our systems in our fixed-up cars and hoopties. I get told many times that I prefer the secondary hit to the top hit of many artists, and it's true. Here's a prime demonstration of that... Lots of these artists you may know, but most of these tracks won't be the hit song that the artist had, just another good one I remember from listening to the full albums back in the day."
