Toronto & Palestinian songstress Ayah released a mixtape last summer that heads like myself are barely taking notice of. Combining elements of RnB, Soul, Hip Hop and Electronica Ayah brings a little something different and good to music lovers. She even did a remake of The Pharcyde's classic "Passin Me By" featuring Skyzoo.
You can head over to her site and download each individual song (20 songs in all) or you download the whole "mixtape" below.
"Her mixtape, based on Marvin Gaye’s 1972 soundtrack to the blackspoltation flick Trouble Man has an ear to the past, but doesn’t harp on it and lets her true sound shine through. With a attitude that Butta from Soul Bounce calls “sweet but street,” Ayah might just reinvent the R&B genre as we know it."
